The Qashqai are renowned for their pile carpets and other woven wool products. The wool produced in the mountains and valleys near this region is exceptionally soft and beautiful and takes a deeper color than wool from other parts of Iran. This 40-50 year old Persian Qashqai rug is hand-knotted of 100% wool and has 150 knots per square inch with an alternating fringe pattern.
